PARTS OF A PLANT

Different parts of a plant are leaf, flower,

fruit, stem and roots. Different parts of the Stem

plant helps the plant in different ways. Root

Root

Roots of a plant mostly grow under the soil.

They hold the plant in the soil and take water from
the soil.

We eat roots of carrot, radish, turnip etc., as food.

Stem

The stem of a plant grows above the soil. Water and

food pass through the stem to different parts of the
plant. On the stem, many branches grow. We eat Stem

stems of potato, sugarcane, ginger etc., as food. (trunk)
