Plants are the living things which
CLASSIFICATION OF PLANTS make food for themselves.

Plants can be classified as follows :
Trees

Huge and tall plants are called trees.

There are many kinds of trees that

grow on land. E.g. : neem, banyan,
Neem
mango etc.

Trees are of different shapes, sizes and

heights.

Trees give us wood and oxygen.

Trees have hard and woody stems
Banyan
called trunks . Mango

Some trees have branches but some

other do not have.

Branchless trees

Most of the trees have branches.

However, there are some trees which
do not have branches e.g. Ashoka
Papaya Ashoka Coconut
tree tree tree tree, papaya tree, coconut tree etc.

Shrubs

Woody and short plants are called shrubs. E.g. : rose, jasmine, china rose

etc.
