Some plants store their food in leaves.
These roots bulge up and are used as food, e.g. :
radish, carrot, beet etc.

cabbage, spinach etc.

Some plants store their food in fruits.
These fruits are eaten as vegetables, e.g. :
brinjal, tomato etc.

Strange but true
Potato and ginger grow under the ground but they are stems not roots.
As Fruits
Fruits are the fleshy part of a plant that can
be eaten as food.
Apple Banana
Fruits are sweet in taste. Mango Orange
They keep us healthy, e.g. : orange, mango, apple etc.
As Nuts
We get nuts from some plants.
Nuts are fruits with a hard covering called
Almond Walnut shell.
Cashew nut
Nuts give us energy , e.g. : almond, walnut cashew nut etc.
As Spices
Turmeric
Some plants give us spices.
